Roughly in German: 'Im Zweifel für den Angeklagten'

How do you get to this point, today...? Did you murder your boss or anyone around you in the heat of the moment?

Actually I was referring to Käfer's topic, wondering how one would say that in German if I wanted to tell her to give her boyfriend the benefit of the doubt..

I don’t know why but this reminds me of „guilty as charged“.

Schuldig im Sinne der Anklage.
