I´d like to avoid using "dict.leo.org", so please help me to translate the unknown words concerning my weekend: hopefully I will have a lot of "Entspannung". Besides i will visit my daughter in Munich to help her with some work in her new appartment. Melli, you are completely right!

Who had the great idea of starting this English thread? And Brösli, thank you for starting it in the end. My plans for the next days are: having dinner with Hellraiser (as it is his birthday today ), tomorrow working 'til 12:30 pm, then playing some badminton. Saturday Hellraiser will leave and it's soccer time. And Sunday I will watch our more or less attractive mens team playing you see, weekend is almost completely in the sign of soccer... as always yoshi, I think, it's simply "join this thread". In my opinion you don't need the "in"

Caro, yes I know, thanks a lot! But I'm worry that it is a job about 100 % to correct me. It is a cold comfort for me, that you understood what I meant.

Okay, just to avoid to see our little bug crying again, I'll change my strategy to what Spaniards did with me, when I was learning Spanish: they answered using the correct words. ;o) Melli: You asked for the wisenheimers to show up in this anorak thread! Yoshi: Relaxation will be good for your health! Hannah: Con algo hay que empezar! Käfer: Look at Cowichans comment - I am also still learning!

Yes, it is to mow the lawn, and Caro: to help someone do something - you used a preposition some pages ago.
Hey, you're so quick, I cannot follow! Unfortunately, I don't know what to write about, so I will be back later...

Neddi hat geschrieben: Yes, it is to mow the lawn, and Caro: to help someone do something - you used a preposition some pages ago. Got me, Neddi! I never know which verbs are followed by the infinitive, with or wihtout "to", and which ones by the continuous form. I really hope that I commit more errors like these in this thread! It would not be fair if you were the only ones who improve!

No problem! It is funny, now that I want to write in English, there's nothing to say... I am glad we did not invent something like "on Fridays only in English" - it would be so boring!

Oh how lovely that we have switched over to English in one thread. To mow the lawn is correct. But to cut the gras can also be used.

Hey, I just came back from my lunch break and find this thread already 3 pages long! Excellent! -> Rasen mähen: Do you guys know Google Fight? http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?la ... +the+grass"cut the grass" wins. It sounds more familiar to me, too. But both are correct, so we're all right, isn't that wonderful? Here in Saarbrücken we're having some serious partying tomorrow and Saturday due to the German national holiday. Some streets are already blocked and people are preparing tents and all sorts of stuff. I hope I'll be able to make it to my daughter's place on Saturday as it is also her birthday... And my father told me that he is playing in a concert tomorrow, which I'm sure NOT to watch because I can't stand crowds, sorry, Papa.

Boooh! So he just wanted something 'on the side'.
Funny about the grass *lol* In the north of the US they cut the grass to keep it short, the folks in the south sit on the porch and watch it grow.
Not quite sure whether 'north' and 'south' should be written with capital letters - Who knows?
